superfood chocolate protein shake

May 6, 2015 by katiebenson Leave a Comment

superfood chocolate protein shake A creamy, cold, chocolate smoothie! This satisfying snack (or dessert!) is super healthy and full to the brim with antioxidants and superfoods like leafy greens, mixed berries, chia seeds, hemp hearts & raw cacao.

I think one of the hardest things about eating a minimally processed diet is that I always struggle with finding healthy snack foods when I am hungry. I finally think I found a new go-to! I use gelatin collagen protein in my smoothies since it is a very clean source of protein. I don’t use protein powders since I can’t pronounce about 75% of the ingredients listed on their labels and collagen protein is also amazing for your hair, skin and nails. Win!

superfood chocolate protein shake Some nutrition specs for this chocolate treat via sparkpeople:

300 calories

35g carbohydrates

15g fat

16g protein

13g fiber

With 12g fiber, 16g protein and 15g fat, this smoothie will keep you full and satisfied. I always tend to make one around 3pm when I seem to get the hungriest. Enjoy!
